Understanding the difference between Open Water and Advanced Open Water

Are you looking forward to enrolling in a scuba diving course but not sure where to begin? Here are two courses that can get you started.

What to expect in PADI Open Water Diver

If you’re a beginner, the PADI Open Water Diver is the initial scuba certification level that you need to kick off your diving journey. This beginner course is ideal for individuals who have always wanted to experience the unparalleled beauty of the underwater world. No prior scuba diving experience is required. As long as you’re in good health and know how to swim, then you’re good to go.

This 3-day course will provide you with the knowledge and the skills that you need to safely explore the marine world. Like most of the dive courses, you will have to undergo the PADI e-Learning program. This is one of the biggest benefits of today’s technology. You can learn the theories, principles, and terminologies of diving at the comfort of your own home through a combination of interactive presentations, audio recordings, videos, and reading materials. This web-based learning program enables you to fit scuba lessons into your busy schedule by learning at your own pace and convenience. You can also complete the final assessment and exam at the end of the e-Learning course at home which will determine if you are ready for the in-water lessons.

Since you have the liberty of completing the e-Learning program prior to your arrival in UAE, you can focus your time and energy on the in-water sessions. Nothing beats the excitement of the actual dives. The thrill begins as you fit your scuba equipment and head on the dive site with our PADI-certified instructors. The PADI Open Water Diver usually involves five confined water dives in one session and four open water dives in two sessions.

What happens after completing the PADI Open Water Diver

Upon completing the course requirements, you will earn a certification from PADI that qualifies you to dive to a depth of 18m with a dive buddy. It’s an amazing start to your dive journey.

At this point, you already know how to assemble and use your scuba gear and manage your buoyancy. The course also opens your eyes to the value of marine life and how to respectfully approach aquatic creatures.

What to expect in PADI Advanced Open Water

Earning your first scuba certification is not the end but the start of something more exciting. Investing your time and effort to improve your diving skills can help you explore more incredible sites than you’ve only imagined.

Ready to advance your skills? PADI Advanced Open Water Diving is what you need to go up the ladder. This 3-day course includes e-Learning materials that will give you the necessary knowledge that you will need.

During PADI Open Water Diver, you covered the important basic diving skills. When you take up PADI Advanced Open Water Diving, you can hone your navigation and buoyancy skills. The exciting part of this course is the five adventure dives that are designed to build your confidence and develop your PADI Advanced Open Water skills list. There are three compulsory dives and two dives that cater to your personal preferences and interests. For example, if you are interested in underwater photography, you can sign up for Digital Underwater Imaging. Want to know about the different fish species? Taking up Fish Identification will enable you to recognize the different kinds of fish that you encounter during your dives. Other incredible options are Deep Dive, Night Dive, Dive Against Debris, Enriched Air Nitrox, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Rescue, and more. You’ll earn credit for every specialty dive that you take.

What happens after completing the PADI Advanced Open Water

After completing the e-Learning and five adventure dives, you will receive a license that enables you to dive to a depth of 18m to 30m with a dive buddy.

When you have a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification and an Emergency First Response, you can enroll in a rescue course diving UAE.

The joy of being certified

Diving opens the door to an incredible world that is like no other. The deep blue sea is a perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The marine environment takes you away from the weight of the world. When you’re underwater, you can focus on breathing and the beauty of your surroundings.
